Another in my Portraits of a Forest Series.

It’s interesting how I see this shot. Normally an off-kilter horizon drives me nutz. But in this shot I find the contrast of the left side of the frame, where everything is “proper,” and the right, where everything is all running off into the ditch, to be really compelling, somehow. As if there’s some dynamic conflict attempting resolution or something like that. At any rate, it draws my eyes around in the image, and that is good. The world needs more stress, right? 😉

I’ve been working some more on my series of Portraits of a Forest and offer this up for your pleasure. More will follow. This is shot in near-infrared and manipulated until it suited my fancy. Maybe it’s what it looks like to some insect or other. Or maybe it’s only what it looks like to me. No matter.
