It’s How We Frame Things
August 16, 2008
We create our own realities. The way we frame our thoughts determine the world we live in. This strange old homestead is smack dab in the middle of the city of Flagstaff, Arizona. Now, not the Flagstaff of the 1800s. I’ve driven past it numerous times and said to myself that I need to photograph it. And so I did. It is perched on the side of a hill, and the ground around it has been carved away by heavy equipment such that the house is left alone on a perch with the staircase leading to a severe dropoff. It seems that the owner has been digging away at his property and selling the red rock which underlies it all. And so now we have a house with no yard. Very, very strange.
Context.
